This painting is dedicated to cats. Big, small, friendly, sassy, mellow, rebellious, all of them.
Their slick mannerisms, paw-gestures and facial expressions are all charming. They look like pampered movie stars.
Cats look magical enough to have at least nine lives.
I went even further; I’ve added a tenth life. In my imagination, during their tenth life, they relocate to a fairy-tale forest, grow butterfly wings and fly from tree to tree to the clouds and back.
I created a soft pink aura around the cat and used magenta and cobalt-turquoise-light colors for the cat’s body to hint at the illusoriness of the scenery. The shape of my cat is fluid, which is supposed to symbolize its impermanence.
